Vancouver Foodster’s recent Culinary Scavenger Hunt was a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon: clues, tasks, prizes, and delicious sips and snacks at every stop!

With over 9 restaurants/establishments to visit, and about 4 hours to do so, we travelled from Yaletown to Coal Harbour to the West End and then back again to Yaletown. With no rain to contend with, it felt like an added bonus to be able to walk from one downtown neighborhood to another. And talk about burning some serious Piggy calories!

There were a few familiar spots on the Hunt (DeDutch, Milestones and The Parlour Yaletown), but the majority were new for me: Bella Gelateria, Marquis Wines, Xoxolat, Soirette Macaron & Tea, Chasers Juice, and Seventeen89 Restaurant. I indulged in many tasty treats and I came away with a few new Piggy favourites: Empress Tea from Soirette, vanilla bean ice cream from Bella Gelateria and Chef Daryle Ryo Nagata’s Tuna Tataki from Seventeen89 Restaurant. Another thirst-quenching highlight was the freshly made Orange Juice from Chasers Juice, and did I mention that they were serving Haywire’s The Bub at Marquis? Utterly delightful!

All in all, it was a lovely afternoon; an exciting tasting adventure to say the least! I highly encourage you to participate in one of Van Foodster’s upcoming events; tell your friends, buy your tickets early, and definitely bring your game-day appetite!
