Nellcôte – Chicago, Illinois

Nellcôte might just have been my favourite Chicago dining experience. At the very least, the best Brunch we had during our visit. Recommended by the fabulous concierge team at the Chicago Hilton (Hello, Karin von Krusenstierna & Iliana Ramirez!) this restaurant was located in Chicago’s trendy Randolph Street Corridor, “Restaurant Row” to the locals!

The service was friendly, the prices quite reasonable, and the room was glamorous without being pretentious: think art nouveau meets wooden floors, meets crystal chandeliers. If I could have my own restaurant, I would pattern it after Nellcôte; such an eclectic design and vibrant energy.

The Brunch Menu offered some exciting and unique options. On top of a few cups of coffee (a Piggy Tourist must fuel accordingly!) we ordered the following, and I couldn’t have been happier with our selections:

Bellini: raspberry jam, peach nectar, prosecco

Brunch Share Plate: madeleines, brioche, prosciutto, gruyere cheese, tea-poached plums, house made butter & jam

Eggs ‘en cocotte’: polenta, mushroom sausage gravy, toast

Lobster Hash: poached eggs, yukon gold potatoes, smoked paprika hollandaise

Nellcôte is located at: 833 W. Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60607 - I really hope you are able to check it out for yourself one day! It was worth the trip, Piggies, I promise!
