September 8 – 14: WEEKLY UPDATE

This September is turning out to be one busy month. Busy, busy, busy!

Last week began with Vitamin Daily’s Sidewalk Soirée, a special delivery from The Social Concierge, and ended with a good ol' fashioned Pie Competition! As one of the star judges at the 5th Annual Great BC Bake-Off (located at The NEW Well Seasoned in Langley, BC) I literally sampled my way through 13 different homemade pies - a Piggy challenge if I’ve ever seen one!

Other highlights from the week include cocktails at Chill Winston, dinner at the Flying Pig in Gastown, and another #tastingplatesYVRadventure.

This Sidewalk Soirée was a fabulous way to celebrate 10 years of ‘daily doses.’ Not to mention the launch of VITA, Vitamin Daily’s new print publication. It was a night full of browsing and shopping, delicious food and drink and incredible Vancouver Opera entertainment. For this Piggy however, the highlight of the night was meeting the owner of Beaucoup Bakery: the beautiful baker herself, Jackie Ellis.


This special delivery arrived at my door last Wednesday.What a treat! According to the team at The Social Concierge something Big is Brewing and I can hardly wait to find out more. Check out for further details, Piggies. You’ll want to get your tickets ASAP. Trust me!


This time, #TastingPlaytesYVR took place throughout Vancouver’s West End – and what a beautiful September night it was!  My foodie highlights from the evening were 3 restaurants that I had actually never been to before: PappaRoti, Morocco West and Pizza Fabrika. And when it came time for a glass of wine… Marquis Wine Cellars had us all covered!

What more can you say? Chill Winston has one of thee BEST #patios in #Vancouver. Refreshing cocktails, good service and fantastic #Gastown people watching!

There were rows of homemade pies to be judged and this Fat Piggy was up to the task! The 5th annual Great BC Bake-Off, an amateur pie baking competition (presented by Edible Vancouver & Wine Country), took place last Sunday afternoon and I was thrilled to be a part of it. Meeting Angie Quaale, owner of Well Seasoned and founder of this fantastic event, was a real treat as well and I was very grateful for her “wear your stretchy pants” advice. Thanks again, Angie – see you next year!
